Coaching for Success

knowledgeable and results oriented

I had never worked with a coach before, so this was a new experience for me. What I loved about working with Justin is that he is a valuable resource, knowledgeable and results oriented. He not only is a great listener and processor, he gave me helpful perspectives and practical advice as well. I was in the midst of a career transition and Justin was very helpful to me in ascertaining my next career move and in helping to clarify priorities. I’d highly recommend Justin. It was a great experience for me — and fun also!

Inside every human being is potential waiting to emerge. This is not a vague notion. I am not talking in the abstract. I have seen clients in as little as one session make profound and brilliant transformations into new states of being and empowerment.

For example I had one client find "her voice" only after one session of coaching. In fact I remember saying to myself during the second session,

"Her voice is different."

provides actionable insight and, most importantly, he genuinely cares

It was a privilege to be engaged in the workshops being conducted by Justin, in addition having an opportunity for one on ones. For some strange reason, I connected with him as a friend instantaneously and thought that I could trust him and speak with him about myself.

He is incredibly patient, listens intently, never judges, provides actionable insight and, most importantly, he genuinely cares. I feel lucky to have met him and would recommend him to anyone seeking support to think positively about themselves, to grow and to make concrete decisions.

Later during the session she herself admitted to me that she "found her voice". The small voice of the person waiting for others to make decisions was replaced by the mature voice of a woman full of power to act. Even her husband of 30 years commented that something was different about her.

Honestly I have asked myself in these instances if I (as the coach) am really doing anything? Can the farmer take credit for the fruit born by the tree, nurtured by the sun and rain? If he rattles the tree at the right time and the fruit falls, for what can he take credit? So I have concluded that perhaps I know when and where to rattle the tree. In some cases I find that people just need permission to change the story in their head about themselves.

For me coaching is a sacred duty to be intentionally present with another person and listen and give expression to the inner longing of the soul.  I seek to unlock the power and potential in every person I coach.

I use the StrengthsFinder 2.0 instrument as a starting point to identify innate wisdom, power and potential. I do not try to "fix" people. People are not machines needing a new part. If someone is struggling to perform then together we explore how they can use their Strengths to reach a higher level of performance. We will also explore if they are over using their Strengths. In other words, are they their worst enemy? Are they getting in their own way?

I am a certified Strengths coach, and this means that people who hire me can expect a solution focused approach to challenges. In other words, together we will answer the question,

How can you better use your BEST mind and self to meet the challenges you face?

If you are reading this perhaps you are seeking a coach for yourself or someone you know. Perhaps you are asking:

"Is Justin right for me?"

The only way to know is for us to meet.

maximizing my performance

Justin helped me make the transition into thinking more deeply about maximizing my performance at my current role and also invest my focus on my greater career goals by challenging me to develop new ways of leading people. But maybe, the true benefits to Justin’s coaching was that he provided frank and neutral advice while allowing me to talk about how to grow personally and professionally and build on my ideas while maintaining sensitivity and diligence toward everyday tasks.
